The long awaited diversion of a 975 metre 33kV overhead electricity line at Eastern Green, Coventry is almost complete.
Diversion of the line, which was bisecting the site, will free up essential development land which was released from the green belt and allocated by Coventry City Council as a sustainable urban extension.
BTS project managed the relocation of the apparatus on behalf of Hallam Land Management and liaised between the team and National Grid Electricity Distribution on the diversion route feasibility. Our surveyors worked with engineers to ensure that the diversion would be completed within a timeframe that should ensure the smooth delivery of the new development.
Sustainable building methods and renewable technologies will be used to provide much needed housing (up to 2,400 properties), 15 hectares of employment land and a new district centre.
It is intended that the scheme will provide a new gateway to the city, enhance its profile and bring increased economic growth.
If you have a site requiring a complicated diversion solution, contact the team at BTS.
