After three and a half years of working collaboratively with Cala Homes on their proposed residential scheme at the site of Hogwood Farm, Finchampstead, the development is due to commence as scheduled, following extensive works undertaken by SSE to underground a 610 metre 132kV overhead electricity line that was constraining the site.
The works included the construction of two new terminal towers and the crossing of an oil pipeline. The first cable circuit is due to be energised in late October.
The 272 acre site will provide 3,500 new homes (including affordable dwellings), employment space, public open space and a primary school and will be a major boost for the area.
