A third of housing developers across the UK are struggling to deliver housing schemes due to a shortage of grid connections, a survey has found.
The survey of 50 housebuilders and developers, undertaken and published by Knight Frank, has found that around 15,000 new homes are currently still unavailable because utility firms are failing to deliver new connections on time.
The survey also revealed that housebuilders are increasingly looking to a change of government in the hope that this will improve the land and development market, with 60% of respondents suggesting that a lower interest rate would be of most benefit.
